The Winding Road

Have you ever noticed how life is like a road? In so many ways our lives can be compared to those concrete and asphalt paths that guide us to our destinations.

Life Is Like Court Street

The other day I was driving to school at about 6:30 am. I was heading down Court Street, which is not very crowded at that time of the morning. In fact, I think I was the only one on the road.

Well that morning was kind of wet but clear enough to see (usually). At one point, I looked into my rearview mirror as I was going along and it hit me how much my life was like this little trip down Court Street.

Just like the road, there had been ups and downs in my life -- some places where it was very clear and others that were foggy and hard to see past. And just like driving, when I kept on moving forward I eventually found the clear spot on the other side.

My Life In A Fog

Then I looked in front of me and noticed that the road ahead was still unclear. No matter how hard I tried, nothing was fully visible until I was almost on top of it. Again, it made me think about life.

Ups and downs -- twists and turns; it is all part of the path we're traveling. At times life is good, like the clear parts of the road. While at other times, things get rough and it's hard to see what's ahead, much like the fog that lay softly on the road.

In the Clear

My life used to be a mess of fog. I never knew what was coming but had no place to turn. And my road wasn't smooth like cement but more like a rough dirt road. But that was before I became involved with church.

Now, even though there is fog from time to time, things are a lot clearer, and I know that God will guide me threw any fog I hit. So don't fret when fog blocks your view, just know Jesus will guide you through to the light of day on the other side.
